Enjoy summer in Yamanashi! Fireworks festivals that light up the night sky
Summer is all about fireworks that light up the night sky. Every August, large-scale fireworks festivals are held all over Yamanashi Prefecture.
This summer, why not experience the excitement of a fireworks display and then spend some quiet and luxurious time at LOOF?
Lake Kawaguchi Festival (Fujikawaguchiko Town)
Boasting a history of over 100 years, this is one of Yamanashi's most traditional fireworks festivals.
The musical fireworks and large star mines that light up the lake and the night sky are a spectacular sight. There are also many stalls, so you can fully enjoy the summer festival atmosphere.
A fireworks display will be held at the Fuji Five Lakes for five days starting from August 1st.

Shinmei Fireworks (Ichikawamisato Town)
This is the largest fireworks festival in Yamanashi Prefecture and is held every year on Fireworks Day, Thursday, August 7th.
Approximately 20,000 fireworks are launched from the banks of the Fuefuki River, and the story-like performance linked to the music is an appealing sight.
This popular event is attended by approximately 200,000 people and features over 80 food stalls, livening up the summer evenings.

Nanbu Fire Festival (Nanbu Town, Minamikoma District)
This traditional event has been held since the Edo period and is associated with sending off Bonfires and insects, with 108 bonfires lined up along a stretch of about 2 kilometers on both sides of the Fuji River creating a fantastical sight.
Dancing flames from large torches and gigantic star mines light up the night sky, and about 50 night stalls liven up the festival.

Isawa Onsen Fireworks Festival (Fuefuki City)
This fireworks display will be held on Sunday, August 24th, and will mark the finale of the Fuefuki City Summer Festival.
The attraction is the impressive displays that can be experienced up close, such as music star mines and rainbow star mines.

Yoshida Fire Festival (Fujiyoshida City)
Boasting a history of over 450 years, this summer festival is one of Japan's three most unusual festivals and is representative of Fujiyoshida, located at the foot of Mount Fuji.
On the first night, a portable shrine dedicated to the God of Fuji is carried around, and more than 100 large torches over 3 meters tall are lit, creating a fantastical sight as the roughly 2km road is engulfed in flames.
