Enjoy a 1.8L bottle of wine in Katsunuma, Yamanashi. "Tsutanoie" limited plan sale

When you think of wine, you tend to imagine a stylish bottle, but in Katsunuma, Yamanashi, there is a slightly unique and somewhat nostalgic "local style" way of enjoying wine. This is "one sho bottle wine." The culture of enjoying wine in a teacup from a one sho bottle, which is known as a container for sake and soy sauce, has been passed down to this day. We will introduce you to an accommodation plan where you can enjoy this unique wine experience at the traditional Japanese inn "Tsutanoie."

"Wine in a 1.8L bottle" is a local culture that is deeply rooted in Yamanashi Prefecture, especially in the Katsunuma area. At the end of the Taisho era, grape farmers would make wine for their own use using grapes that could not be shipped. At the time, bottles made specifically for wine were not available in Japan, so it is said that this tradition began with the reuse of 1.8L bottles for sake, which have excellent storage properties and volume. Eventually, it took root on the local dining table and became a familiar drink for daily evening drinks, as well as at neighborhood association gatherings and celebratory occasions.

In Katsunuma, the traditional way to enjoy wine is to pour a 1.8L bottle into a teacup.

We have prepared an exclusive plan for Tsutanoie that allows you to experience the culture unique to Katsunuma.
