1. Shinkurayama Sengen Park (5 minutes on foot from TheONE, 30 minutes by car from Ashigawa)

This is a scenic spot where you can enjoy the "Japanese scenery" of Mt. Fuji, the five-story pagoda, and cherry blossoms in full bloom. In spring, Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom in full glory, making it the most famous spot in the surrounding area.

2. Yatsushiro Furusato Park (about 25 minutes by car from Ashigawa Tsutanoie)

A cherry blossom viewing spot where about 300 cherry trees decorate the park. In the "Sakura Forest", Somei-Yoshino and double-flowered cherry trees create a stunning contrast. There is also a burial mound plaza where you can feel the history, as well as playground equipment and a water play area, so it is also recommended for families.

3. Kuonji Temple, Mount Minobu (about 25 minutes by car from Shonoie)

A famous spot where a 400-year-old weeping cherry tree blooms in full glory. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery, which has been selected as one of the top 10 weeping cherry trees in Japan. The sight of the cherry blossoms drooping to the ground is truly a sight to behold.

4. Cherry blossoms at Jionji Temple (10 minutes by car from Tsutanoie, 15 minutes by car from Okanoie)

The 300-year-old weeping cherry tree "Itozakura" is a famous tree that has been designated as a natural monument of Yamanashi Prefecture. It is characterized by its beautiful canopy-like cherry blossoms, and is also called Itozakura because it blooms with pale pink flowers that look like drooping threads.

5. Yamataka Jindai Sakura (about 30 minutes by car from Kyonoie)

At about 2000 years old, this is the oldest and largest Edohigan cherry tree in Japan. It is one of the three most famous cherry trees in Japan, and has a spectacular presence as a giant cherry tree. It was the first cherry tree to be designated a national natural monument, and is a must-visit spot for cherry blossom lovers.

6. Iwadonoyama Maruyama Park (about 15 minutes by car from Shikinoie)

A park where Somei-yoshino and Yaezakura cherry trees are in full bloom. It's a great location to enjoy a leisurely cherry blossom viewing while looking out at Mt. Fuji. You can also go hiking and enjoy a nature walk with the cherry blossoms.

7. Yama no Kami Senbonzakura (about 15 minutes by car from Iwainoie)


A row of cherry trees line the mountain path (total length 2.4 km) leading to the summit at an altitude of 800 m. You can enjoy the rare sight of the cherry blossoms blooming one after the other from the base of the mountain to the summit. From the shrine at the summit, you can get a panoramic view of the Yatsugatake Mountains and the Southern Alps, making it a recommended cherry blossom viewing spot with a spectacular view.
